Introduction

SWEVEN embraces a new, cloud based Saas platform approach to facilities management that enhances its clients’ bottom lines in ways that no other existing platforms can.

The Challenge

The goal of this project was to bring Sweven's powerful functionality to a mobile experience without compromising performance or usability. The central idea was to allow users to manage their tasks and work orders from anywhere, directly from their mobile devices. With this in mind, an optimized mobile interface was developed that allows quick access to the platform's main functions, such as the pipeline view, advanced filters, and customized display options.

Common challenges include:

  • Optimize Mobile Task Management: Develop a mobile app that allows users to manage their work orders and daily tasks efficiently, replicating key functionality from the web version in a mobile environment.

  • Create an Intuitive and Mobile-Friendly Interface: Design a user interface that is easy to navigate and perfectly adapts to mobile device screens, ensuring a smooth and satisfying experience.

  • Ensure Full Integration with the SaaS Platform: Ensure that the mobile app is fully synchronized with the web version of Sweven, allowing users to switch between devices without losing data or functionality.

  • Facilitate Remote Access to Key Functionality: Provide access to essential functions such as pipeline view, geolocation, and advanced filters, ensuring that users can manage multiple sites and assets from anywhere.

The Solution

Sweven transforms facility and asset management with an intuitive interface, real-time geolocation, mobile optimization and a cloud-based SaaS platform, enabling efficient administration from anywhere.

Sweven's key features include:

  • Mobile-Friendly Interface Design: Sweven's interface was redesigned to fit the smaller screens of mobile devices, prioritizing simplicity and clarity in the presentation of information.

  • Real-Time Geolocation Implementation: Geolocation functionality was integrated, allowing users to view and manage their work orders based on their real-time location, directly from their mobile device.

  • Full Web Version Synchronization: Ensured that all data and settings from the mobile app were perfectly synchronized with the web version of Sweven, allowing a seamless transition between devices.

The Results

The mobile app improved task management with a tailored interface, geolocation integration and remote access to key functions from anywhere.

Conclusion

Developing the Sweven mobile app presented unique challenges, mainly because it was necessary to translate the extensive functionality of the web version into a more compact and different mobile environment. As a designer, this project led me to explore new ways of interaction and learn more about mobile design, a field in which I want to constantly learn despite my experience.

One of the biggest challenges was adapting the interface and functions to be equally effective and easy to use on a mobile device, without compromising the user experience. Furthermore, the lack of detailed requirements from the start meant that multiple iterations and versions were needed before reaching a satisfactory result.

Despite these difficulties, the end result is a mobile app that not only meets the initial objectives, but has also established a solid foundation for future improvements. I am proud to have helped the client clarify their vision and transform that vision into an effective tool that can be used anywhere, anytime.
